You might begin looking for some activities while exploring Cape Cod in the spring. Fortunately, there’s a lot to do in the shoulder season, including checking out various events at Cape Cod Beer.
Cape Cod Beer has a popular taproom on Phinney’s Lane in Hyannis. It has a beer garden, a concert area, and some of the best brews you’ll find anywhere on the Cape, making it a must-stop location on your getaway.

Spring is a busy time at Cape Cod Beer, with events nearly every night of the week. Here’s a look at the schedule for 2024.
Music Bingo
Most Wednesday nights in the spring feature Music Bingo at Cape Cod Beer. The idea is that you grab a bingo card when you walk into the brewery, and the DJ plays a short snippet of a song. If you recognize the song and it’s on your bingo card, you get to cross it off. The first person to get a row of five on their bingo card wins the round.
There are prizes for every round of Music Bingo you win, and you can enjoy a few pints while you play. Music Bingo is free and runs between 6:00 and 8:00 PM throughout the spring.
Taproom Trivia Night
On Thursday nights, Cape Cod Beer hosts its Trivia Night. Like bingo night, trivia is free, and you can win prizes by answering questions correctly.
The idea is that you’ll form a team with up to six players and answer questions asked by the host. The team with the most points at the end of the contest earns a prize. Taproom Trivia Night runs from 6:00 until 8:00 PM every Thursday in the spring.
Free Live Music at the Brewery
We mentioned that Cape Cod Beer has a concert area and that’s because the brewery frequently hosts live musical performances. There’s a band at the venue every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting on April 19, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities to enjoy.
Start times for these performances vary, although most are between 3:00 and 6:00 PM or 5:00 and 8:00 PM. However, there’s the odd matinee starting around noon.
All live music is free, and, of course, you can grab a pint or two while listening to the band. Food trucks will also be on-site during some performances so that you can have a meal on-site. If there’s no food truck at the venue on the day you visit, it’s possible to bring your own food to the brewery or have a local restaurant deliver it to you.
Guided Brewery Tours
Visiting Cape Cod Beer is a wonderful experience, and if you fall in love with the brewery, you might want to take a brewery tour. Fortunately, this business makes this step incredibly easy by holding guided brewery tours every Saturday morning.
These tours start at 11:00 AM and take about an hour. You’ll get to visit the brew house, grain room, and production room before heading to the tasting room to sample some beers. You’ll also learn about the brewery’s history.
You’ll want to book your brewery tour in advance because they only take ten people at a time and usually sell out. You can buy your tickets, which costs $12 per person, directly through the Cape Cod Beer website. You must be at least 21 years old to take the tour.
One-Time Events
While most events at Cape Cod Beer run on a weekly schedule, there are some one-time events taking place this spring, as well.
For starters, April 28 will feature the Spring Market, which brings over 15 local vendors to the brewery. You can grab a beer, wine, or cider and listen to live music while shopping for handmade jewelry, local clothing, and souvenirs. Admission to the Spring Market is free and runs from noon until 4:00 PM.
Cape Cod Beer will host launch parties at various times in the spring. These parties occur when a new beer is released or brought back for the summer, like May 1, when the brewery will mark the return of Hot Blonde Ale. There will be another beer release party on May 9 when Cape Cod Summer Ale returns, and you’ll want to keep an eye on the schedule for more.
May 4 will be a special day at Cape Cod Beer with the brewery’s first-ever Blue Lobster Vinyl Swap event. The venue is teaming up with MVYRADIO and giving music lovers the chance to bring an old vinyl record in and leave with a completely new one. There will be prizes, beer, and music, too, and you don’t have to bring an old record to attend; only if you want to participate in the swap.
Make Cape Cod Beer Part of Your Spring
If you’ll be visiting Cape Cod this spring and love beer, Cape Cod Beer is a must-visit location. The beer here is excellent, and it’s a wonderful place to hang out in the afternoon or evening, especially once the weather warms up and you can enjoy the beer garden.
