Where to Find Live Music in Hyannis, Massachusetts
Posted by Kinlin Grover | Thursday, April 29, 2021

Hyannis is one of Cape Cod's premier vacation destinations, thanks to the abundance of activities you'll find in its downtown area.

First, there's the harbor, which is lined with marinas, parks, and restaurants, creating a festive atmosphere all summer long.

South of the harbor is the village's beaches, including Veteran's Park, Kalmus, and Keyes, all of which draw crowds because of their calm waters and soft sand.

Moving north of the harbor to Main Street, you'll come across one of the Cape's liveliest shopping and entertainment districts. This area is lined with high-end retailers and stays busy well into the evening because of its restaurants and bars.

Main Street is also where you'll find a series of live music venues, making it the place to be if you want to spend an evening listening to a band.

Here's a look at some of the most prominent places featuring live music in Hyannis, MA.

Torino Restaurant & Bar

Torino is a lively venue with a large patio that sits beside the Hyannis Public Library. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and features an extensive menu with pasta, steak, chicken, seafood, soups, and salads. There's a raw bar, too, if you're in the mood for some oysters or sashimi.

There's live music every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Torino. They have a DJ spinning tunes between 10:00 PM and 12:45 AM on the weekends, as well, so you can make an entire night of it.

Finn's Craft Beer Tap House

Finn's Craft Beer Tap House is just off Main Street on Barnstable Road, directly behind KKatie's Burger Bar. Finn's is, first and foremost, a brewpub that makes a few beers on-site and sources the rest from breweries throughout Massachusetts and the rest of New England. They have a craft cocktail menu and a decent selection of sandwiches, gourmet hot dogs, and appetizers, as well.

You'll also find live music at Finn's Craft Beer Tap House multiple times per week, including some shows that take place on their covered patio.

EmBargo

EmBargo sits in the heart of Main Street and is known for its martinis and tapas. This venue is a lounge and bar featuring a diverse menu with a little bit of everything, including tacos, a raw bar, steaks, and pizza. In addition to martinis and craft cocktails, you'll also find a great wine list and many different beers.

As far as music goes, EmBargo has a band on Tuesdays, karaoke on Wednesdays, live jazz dinner music on Thursdays and Saturdays, and a DJ on Fridays. There's almost always something going on at EmBargo, making it well worth a visit on your Cape Cod vacation.

Duck Inn Pub

Right beside EmBargo is the Duck Inn Pub, a self-titled upscale dive bar that serves beer, cocktails, and wine. There's often live music at the Duck Inn Pub, so whenever you stop by for a drink, there's a good chance there will be a band on stage.

Trader Ed's

One of Hyannis' trendiest locations is Trader Ed's, which sits right on the harbor. This restaurant is incredibly popular all day long because it has a swimming pool, water views, and an extensive menu featuring a raw bar, seafood, sandwiches, and burgers.

After dark is when Trader Ed's really takes off, though, thanks to the live music they have Thursday through Sunday throughout the summer. There's also a DJ between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can dance the night away under the stars.

Hyannis Village Green Bandstand

Hyannis Village Green is in the heart of the action on Main Street, not far from the John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum. This park features a bandstand that hosts numerous concerts and other events in the summer, so check the schedule to see what's going on during your visit.

If you're lucky enough to wander through the park during a concert, there's plenty of space to spread out on the grass while you listen. You could also come across a Shakespeare performance, a dance show, or a magician at the Hyannis Village Green Bandstand.

The Melody Tent

Last but not least, the Melody Tent is Hyannis' preeminent live music venue. This performing arts facility is like a giant circus tent that appears in the late spring and disappears in the early fall while holding dozens of concerts in between.

The Melody Tent first opened its doors in 1950, and its performers have been entertaining audiences on the Cape ever since. Keep in mind that these performances are popular, and the venue only has 2,300 seats, so you'll want to book your spot early to avoid disappointment.

Live Music on Your Hyannis Vacation

As you can see, your options for taking in a live show in Hyannis are nearly endless, as the village has plenty of venues from which to choose.

So, whether you'd like to enjoy some music while sipping on wine and savoring a meal, or you'd prefer a seat in a performing arts venue, Hyannis has you covered.

One thing for sure is that attending one of these venues will make your Cape Cod vacation that much more enjoyable.
