The large Cape Cod New Year’s parties in Provincetown and Chatham provide a wonderful evening of entertainment, but they aren’t your only options. Some local bars and restaurants are holding events, too, making it easy to find a place to let loose near your vacation rental.
Some of these events on the last night of 2022 include dinner, while others are just a concert and party, so you can find the gathering that meets your needs and look into tickets. Some venues are holding New Year’s Day brunches, too, so you can grab a wonderful meal as you shake off the previous night’s shenanigans.
More events will probably be announced as the day closes in, and some venues will have unofficial New Year’s Eve parties, as well. Here’s a look at some things to do on Cape Cod for New Year’s Eve as we head into 2023.
The Water Street Kitchen in Woods Hole
One of the most anticipated New Year’s Eve parties is at the Water Street Kitchen in downtown Woods Hole. This event includes dinner and a party that lasts into the early hours of the morning, ensuring you ring in the New Year in style.
There are two seatings for dinner, so you can choose depending on your preferences. The early seating lasts from 5:00 until 6:00 PM and features a three-course prix fixe menu with an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Appetizers options include oysters, beef carpaccio, tuna tartar, and foie gras, while entrees like short ribs, scallops and lobster risotto, and a hot pot are available.
The last seating runs from 7:00 until 11:00 PM and includes two appetizers, your choice of entree, and a dessert. Tickets for the early seating are $75, while the late seating is $95 per meal because you get an additional course. Keep in mind the tickets are refundable until December 23.
You can’t go wrong with a dinner and after-party at the Water Street Kitchen, especially if you book a vacation rental in the Woods Hole area.
Chatham Bars Inn New Year’s Eve Party
If you’re attending First Night Chatham, you might find yourself looking for another event after it winds down in the evening. Fortunately, the Chatham Bars Inn has you covered with its legendary New Year’s Eve party.
The first thing you should know about this party is that it includes a buffet dinner. Options available include caviar, lobster, shrimp cocktail, charcuterie, tenderloin steak, potatoes, halibut, salad, and dessert. The meal is epic, and there’s no way you’ll leave hungry.
Next, you should know about the party. This event features a gameshow room, a photo booth, street magic, and a DJ dance party. There’s also an on-site casino where you’ll be given $1,000 of fun money when you enter, allowing you to play these games. From there, the top winners at these tables will receive prizes at the end of the right.
That’s not all, though, as your ticket includes an open bar until 12:30 AM. You can choose from a wide selection of beer, wine, and spirits, along with a complimentary glass of champagne at midnight, without paying anything extra. You can get premium drinks and wine by the bottle for an additional fee, as well.
The party at Chatham Bars Inn kicks off at 7:30 PM and ends at 1:00 AM. This event is for 21+, and tickets cost $295 each. Organizers recommend that you dress to impress because most attendees will wear their nicest clothes.
You can also attend a brunch at the same venue the next day, although tickets for the meal are scarce.
The Cleat & Anchor in Dennis
You don’t have to go all out while attending a New Year’s Eve party on Cape Cod because some venues have casual experiences that evening. For instance, the Cleat & Anchor in Dennis is hosting a concert by Rhode Island-based band Nothing Personal at 9:00 PM.
Nothing Personal is a rock, pop, and country band that’s sure to play some of your favorites, and there will also be dancing throughout the evening. If you’re in the mood for a light and casual night, the Cleat & Anchor has you covered.
There will be a brunch at the Cleat & Anchor the following morning at 11:00 AM, as well.
NYE Comedy at Cotuit Center for the Arts
You don’t necessarily have to check out a bar on Cape Cod if you’re looking for some New Year’s Eve entertainment. The Cotuit Center for the Arts is hosting the Jim Ruberti & Friends comedy show, featuring Ruberti and Boston-based comedians Steve Bjork and Chris D.
This show runs from 7:00 until 9:00 PM, so you can head to another venue or back to your vacation rental to ring in the New Year after attending this side-splitting show. Tickets are $35 for adults and $33 for seniors.
New Year’s Eve on Cape Cod
You’ll have plenty of options when spending New Year’s Eve on the Cape because there are events in towns throughout the area. No matter what you’re in the mood to do, there is a party or gathering to check out near your Cape Cod vacation rental.
